Turn On Live Thumbnails for Every Node

Turn On Live Thumbnails for Every Node

See the actual image on the node, not just a label.

If you’ve ever seen another creator’s Fusion node graph with small visual previews sitting directly on the nodes, you might wonder how they got that view.

You can enable it directly in the Fusion Flow view.

Start by right-clicking an empty area of the node graph. This opens the Flow view context menu.

Look for Force Source Tile Pictures and enable it.

Then right-click again and enable Show Thumbnail.

These options tell Fusion to display visual information directly on your nodes instead of showing only the node name and controls.

If the thumbnails don’t appear immediately, refresh your Fusion page a couple of times. Once they load, you should start seeing visual previews across your node graph.

This can make large compositions much easier to navigate because you can identify what each node is doing visually without having to select every node or remember what each one represents.

It’s especially useful when working with complex node trees containing multiple MediaIn, Merge, Transform, mask, and effect nodes. Instead of relying entirely on labels, you get a quick visual reference right inside the Flow view.

Keep in mind that displaying thumbnails can add some extra processing, so if you notice your node graph becoming heavier, you can always turn the options back off.

But if you want your Fusion node tree to look more visual and make individual nodes easier to recognize at a glance, this is a simple setting worth knowing.

Stop guessing what each node contains — see it directly on the node.
